  目標(biāo)英語作文 篇1

“Living without an aim is like sailing without a compass.” This philosophical wisdom by John Ruskin, one of the greatest British writers, tells us that goal setting is extremely important in life.

Why is goal setting so important? The main importance of goal setting is that it provides us with direction and purpose. When we have goals, we know what we want to achieve so that we can focus our mindson a single worthwhile target and avoid getting distracted easily. Personal goal setting also provides us with motivation to achieve what we want to achieve.

Goal setting is of especial significance for today’s students. A study reveals that when students set goals, they learn the importance of taking responsibility, of minimizing excuses and of helping others. Goal setting is a lifelong skill that first helps students succeed in school and then later in life.

Pete Rose, the famous baseball player, whom I have never met, taught me something so valuable that changed my life. Pete was being interviewed in spring training the year he was about to break Ty Cobb‘s all time hits record. One reporter blurted out, "Pete, you only need 78 hits to break the record. How many at-bats do you think you‘ll need to get the 78 hits?" Without hesitation, Pete just stared at the reporter and very matter-of-factly said, "78." The reporter yelled back, "Ah, come on Pete, you don‘t expect to get 78 hits in 78 at-bats, do you?"Mr. Rose calmly shared his philosophy with the throngs of reporters who were anxiously awaiting his reply to this seemingly boastful claim. "Every time I step up to the plate, I expect to get a hit! If I don‘t expect to get a hit, I have no right to step in the batter‘s box in the first place!" "If I go up hoping to get a hit," he continued, "then I probably don‘t have a prayer of getting a hit. It is positive expectation that has gotten me all of the hits in the first place."

When I thought about Pete Rose‘s philosophy and how it applied to everyday life, I felt a little embarrassed. As a business person, I was hoping to make my sales quotas. As a father, I was hoping to be a good dad. As a married man, I was hoping to be a good husband. The truth was that I was an adequate salesperson, I was not so bad of a father, and I was an okay husband. I immediately decided that being okay was not enough! I wanted to be a great salesperson, a great father and a great husband. I changed my attitude to one of positive expectation, and the results were amazing. I was fortunate enough to win a few sales trips, I won Coach of the Year in my son‘s baseball league, and I share a loving relationship with my wife, Karen, with whom I expect to be married to for the rest of my life! Thanks, Mr. Rose!

There is no denying that setting a goal is very important. We find that successful people are always those having and achieving their goals. They set goals, short-term or long-run, to help realize their visions.

Why is goal-setting important? By setting goals you are taking control of the tempo of your life. It is having a map to guide you to where you want to head for. With a clear direction, and with certain plans, you will straightly get what you want. On the contrary, without a goal ,you will live a wandering life. You do not know where to go, what you want and why you are listless. Then your life becomes dull and meaningles just like the dead water in a muddy lake.

From my point of view, goals are not difficult to set and realize. First, you should make clear what you really want, which constitutes your goals. Then you make detailed palans and follow the through, as many winners do.

There are three kinds of goals: short-term, mediumterm and long-term goals.

Short-term goals are those that usually deal with current activities, which we can apply on a daily basis. Such goals can be achieved in a week or less, or two weeks, or possiblymonths. It should be remembered that just as a building is no stronger than its foundation, our long-term goals cannot amount to very much without the achievement of solid short-term goals. Upon completing our short-term goals, we should date the occasion and then add new shortterm goals that will build on those that have been completed.

The medium-term goals build on the foundation of the short-term goals. They might deal with just one term of school or the entire school year, or they could even extend for several years. Any time you move a step at a time, you should never allow yourself to become discouraged or overwhelmed. As you complete each step, you will enforce the belief in your ability to grow and succeed. And as your list of completion dates grow, your motivation and desire will increase.

Long-term goals may be related to our dreams of the future. They might cover five years or more. Life is not a static thing. We should never allow a long-term goal to limit us or our course of action.

What would you do if you failed? Many people may choose to give up. However, the surest way to success is to keep your direction and stick to your goal.

On your way to success, you must keep your direction. It is just like a lamp, guiding you in darkness and helping you overcome obstacles on your way.

Otherwise, you will easily get lost or hesitate to go ahead. Direction means objectives. You can get nowhere without an objective in life. You can try to write your objective on paper and make some plans to achieve it. In this way, you will know how to arrange your time and to spend your time properly. And you should also have a belief that you are sure to succeed as long as you keep your direction all the time.

  目標(biāo)英語作文 篇6

The cartoon aims at informing us of the significance of our dreams/objectives. Definitely, no once can deny the importance of it. Our dreams/goals/ideals/objectives will prevent us from quitting easily especially when we are in great trouble. They will lead us to the destination we are eager to reach, bring out the best in us and stimulate us to remain firm in our faith. To further illustrate the importance of dreams/objectives, I would like to take Helen Keller as a case in point: how could she, a disabled woman who was born blind and deaf, finally be a world-renowned writer who wrote If I Had Three Days to See without her dreams to overcome physical limitations.

Accordingly, at no time should we underestimate the power of dreams/objectives. furthermore, we must set up proper goals before we start to do anything and stick to it whatever difficulties we meet . One of the most dangerous forms of human error is forgetting what one is trying to achieve. Paul Nitze once said.

The importance of English rests with the language being used in most countries in the world as a municating tool. For example, a German and a Chinese can't speak opposite side's language, but they both know English. And then there is no problem between their language munication. We must know the importance and learn the language earnestly.

The key to learn English well is to recite words. Words are the bricks of language building.Only keeping them in our mind, can we master them. A story goes that a disabled young man managed to reach the peak of every famous high mountain in the world before he was 28. He did all this just as his parents told him to do in their will. But the young man committed cannot figure out in the end and his last words were: now I have nothing to do with all my goals achieved and my fame well established. I have no new goals.

This story might not be true, but it conveys profound messages. First, one should have a grand ideal and associate it with the needs of society. Secondly, one should have his own pursuits and should not follow others blindly.

The story is especially instructive when we think of similar happenings around us. Some people, after making a fortune, feel empty and desperate, resorting to drugs or other low style of life. Still more young people do the same because they are in lack of lofty ideals and are only drifting with the tide.

As far as I am concerned, I would like to devote myself to any cause that is beneficial to mankind. My short-term goal is to learn about environmental protection and find a job in this field. And I believe this is a meaningful and useful career. It is worth my life-long efforts. I will keep finding and attaining new goals in this field.

Whatever a man’s status is (may be), he must have an aim. If not, he can hardly stand on his own two feet in the world. That stands to reason. However important fame and wealth may be, we must not let them become our object in life.

We should aim at doing something useful to the society. If my aim can come true, I hope (wish) to be a teacher. However, teaching is by no means an easy thing. I must apply myself closely to my studies so as to be able to cope with my duties (as a teacher).

According to many people, university is aspringboard towards better jobs or higher salaries, and their only goal ofuniversity education is to get a degree. Why do you go to university? I believedifferent people have different answers to this question. As far as I amconcerned, I do not agree with their opinion that university education is aspringboard. Let me name my reasons.

First of all, university education can helpstudent cultivate sentiments. People who are having university education mustlearn much more knowledge. This knowledge will help them cultivate their tastefrom their inside heart. What’s more, the atmosphere in college is also helpfulin developing students’ personal quality.

Secondly, university education is a goodplace for students to prepare for going to society. College doesn’t like highschool. Students have to learn many things besides study. This is the finalstage before they enter the society for most students. Having universityeducation helps them adapt the society easily.

Thirdly, university educationwill let students have a further knowledge in one field. Before going to university, students have to choose their major. This is because they have to learn specializedknowledge in that field. If they want to success, having knowledge about onething deeply is necessary.

To sum up, university education has manyfunctions. It is not only a springboard for better jobs or higher salaries. Theycan’t set their goal for university education is to get a degree. It deservesmore.

I will be a middle school student soon.

When I look back on my pass days, I find myself don’t make a difference, I play most of the time and don’t focus on my study.

Now I make up my mind. In the future days, I must study with all my heart and learn as more as possible. So that I can store something for the future.

  目標(biāo)英語作文 篇12

Nowadays most people go to university not only to learn new knowledge but to get a degree. Many of them no longer care about what they really learn in university, they care more about whether they will get the degree or not. They regard the degree as a golden key to a better jobs or higher salaries. For them, nothing is more important than a degree in university. In my point of view, I cannot agree to this idea.

In the first place, degree is nothing but a paper that can prove you have finished your courses. Most students don’t realize what helps them to find a good job is what they really learn from university, the professional course, and the social skills and so on. In addition, having certificates is more important than having a degree. For instance, if you are looking for a translation job, you certainly need a CET-4 or CET-6 certificate. if you want to be a high school teacher, you need more certificate to prove yourself that you are fit for this job, such as TEM-8 and teacher certificate which is not a degree can show your abilities.

In the second place, having a good personal relationship is much nicer than having a degree. In the social net, you have more friends means you have more choices. For example, many students do not choose the right major in university because their parents chose for them, so that they may not work hard. In that case, this kind of students should spend more time to learn what they are really interested in and make more friends. It’s much better than they spend the whole time to learn the major which they don’t like at all.

To sum up, students should not care too much about their degree, and they should focus on what is truly needed for their future life. The goal of university education is not just to get a degree, but the really useful knowledge and practical experience.

I need to do more sports and do every sport well in PE class.

Why do we choose to go to the middle school?

Some people say that we can learn many basic knowledge in middle school, while others say that only we go to the middle school can we study further in the university.

They both are right, but I think the most important is during the middle school, we can learn to study.

  Study is a lifelong matter.

Going to the school is the basis of study, because it can bring us knowledge as well as give some instructions to study.

Compared to the whole life, the years in school seem short.

If we have the abilities of independent study, we can get learn anytime and anywhere.

Therefore, teaching students how to learn is the goal of middle school education.
